PILIBHIT: A 28-year-old man was found dead in his brother's agricultural fields in Uganpur village on Monday evening, police said. The man, Nand Lal, worked at an industrial unit in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district and was also a marginal farmer. He had returned home a couple of days ago to check on his crops. On Monday morning, his body was found in the agricultural fields of his elder brother, Sher Bahadur.

There were deep wounds on his head and forehead, and his left arm was fractured. His bike was parked outside his brother's house. ASP Anil Yadav and Pilibhit city CO Anshu Jain, inspected the spot. Police sent the body for autopsy and took three-four villagers in custody. An FIR was filed under IPC section 302 (murder).

The tigress, estimated to be about three years old, is in good health and will likely be released on Wednesday. It is believed that she was forced to venture out of the forest due to the presence of adult tigers in the area.
